What "MOQ" Means in Auto Export

Some Chinese exporters quote a 20-vehicle MOQ to filter for serious buyers. Starvia doesn't.

We ship from 1 vehicle (for individual buyers or test orders) to 100+ (for fleet operators and rental companies).

How Order Size Affects Pricing

Order Size Pricing Tier Typical Discount vs Single
1 vehicle Standard baseline
2–4 vehicles Small lot 1–2% per vehicle
5–10 vehicles (one RoRo batch) Container/lot pricing 3–5% per vehicle
11–24 vehicles Multi-container 5–8% per vehicle
25–49 vehicles Bulk 8–12% per vehicle
50+ vehicles (chartered space) Top tier 12–18% per vehicle

Pricing discount comes from:

  1. Shared freight slot (single RoRo booking is more efficient than 5 separate ones)
  2. Bulk inspection (5–10 cars inspected the same day costs less per-car)
  3. Consolidated documentation (one B/L can cover multiple vehicles)
  4. Less per-vehicle handling at our China-side facility

Single-vehicle Orders

We ship single vehicles, but understand:

  • Freight cost per vehicle is higher (you bear the full RoRo or container rate)
  • Inspection is typically $120–$150 instead of $80
  • Documentation fees still apply (typically $50–$100 per shipment)

For single new car orders, total CIF often only saves 5–10% vs buying the same model used locally in your market. We're transparent about this — sometimes it's better to source one vehicle through a local dealer.

Mixed Orders

We can mix:

  • Multiple brands in one shipment (e.g. 3 BYD + 2 Chery + 1 Haval)
  • New and used in one container (rare but possible)
  • Vehicles + spare parts in one container

Mixed orders may add 1–2 days to consolidation and slightly higher per-vehicle handling, but no minimum applies.

First-time Buyers

If this is your first import:

  • We strongly recommend starting with 3–5 vehicles to learn the process
  • One vehicle is fine but freight economics work against you
  • 20+ is also fine but you carry more risk if anything is wrong with the import process
