Origin verification for spare parts starts from the goods themselves. The export location, the supplier's brand and origin eligibility cannot be mixed; to claim agreement treatment in Chile, confirm the rule applicable to that part and its certification requirements.

Make the Part and the Documents Recognizable to Each Other First

Organize the part number, intended use, manufacturing information and commercial invoice line. A Chery Tiggo 9 is used only to identify the vehicle version the part is meant to fit; it does not prove the part's country of production or agreement eligibility, and a whole-vehicle origin document cannot automatically cover separately purchased after-sales parts.

Material What to check Whom to ask when missing
Product description and classification Specific part use and material information Supplier and customs broker
Production or sourcing statement Who produced it and whether the evidence chain is continuous Exporter and producer
Origin certificate Correspondence with the goods, invoice and applicable rule Authorized issuer and broker

When preparing the material, the parts staff can organize the commercial entries by physical label and intended use, then procurement requests the sourcing statement from the supplier. If manufacturing information is not yet available, state clearly which document is missing rather than using the supply address as the place of production. When a part is substituted or its packaging changes, go back and check whether it still corresponds to the supporting material originally prepared.

Record the product description, the vehicle it fits and the treatment intended to be claimed separately. After-sales confirms the part's use, the broker verifies the description required for declaration, and the judgment on origin eligibility is supported by the relevant material and applicable procedure. A record showing that the part fits is only for explaining the usage relationship; it must not be placed in the origin-certificate column as evidence.

Check against the Applicable Agreement Rather Than Applying a Generic Certificate

SUBREI's China-Chile agreement page provides entry points for the rules of origin and certificate annexes. Select the currently applicable text and check the rule, certification and transport conditions; obtaining a document simply named "certificate of origin" does not presuppose a preferential rate. Final treatment is confirmed by Chile Customs under the applicable procedure.

Questions to the supplier can be specific: who provides the producer's information, which goods the documents cover, and how they correspond to the invoice entries. After a reply arrives, check whether it only repeats the trading brand, and keep pursuing the missing manufacturing or sourcing material. For documents passing through intermediate supply stages, require an explanation of each relationship rather than keeping only the final seller's verbal assurance.

When preparing material for the broker's review, place originals side by side with working translations and clearly mark names still pending confirmation. Translators do not add statements about evidentiary validity on their own. Once the broker requests supplemental certificates, the party authorized to provide or issue them handles the request; procurement only tracks progress and does not modify documents that have already been issued.

Practice Check When an After-Sales Part Changes Supply Source

Example only; the contract and the physical vehicle prevail. The supplier for a part needed by a given VIN changes temporarily while the old documents remain in the declaration file. Keep the original fitment requirement first, ask the new supplier for the identity and sourcing material for this consignment, and let the broker check whether the original preparation path still applies. Do not imply to the customer that treatment is available while proof is insufficient.

After confirmation, link the valid material to the actual goods and transaction line and deactivate references that no longer apply. On receipt, the warehouse checks again whether the physical label corresponds; if a substitute part arrives, route the change back to procurement and the broker for review rather than using the original documents simply because the part can be installed.

FAQ

Does buying in China count as Chinese origin?

Origin cannot be judged from the place of purchase or shipment alone.

Can an old certificate be reused for one model type?

Check the specific batch, transaction documents and validity conditions; do not presume it can be reused.

Do warranty parts supplied free of charge need no documents?

Commodity declaration and origin-certificate requirements still need to be checked.

What if production information cannot be found?

Obtain supplementary evidence from the supply chain; make no agreement-treatment commitment before it is confirmed.

For questions on parts documentation requirements, provide the part use, the supply-chain role and the proposed declaration description through the Starvia contact page or WhatsApp.
